Our Tanzania extension is designed as a nearly all-inclusive luxury wildlife photography experience.
Your experience includes: luxury accommodation, meals, scheduled safari activities and game drives, park entrance fees, professional guiding, photography coaching, editing sessions, ground transportation, and the connecting flight from Rwanda to Tanzania for guests joining from our Rwanda workshop.
Not included: personal visa fees, alcoholic or other separately charged beverages, optional gratuities for lodge staff and guides, and personal expenses.
The complete price and payment schedule will be confirmed in your booking documentation.
A $4,000 USD deposit per person is required to secure your seat on the Tanzania photography extension.
The deposit is applied toward the total trip price. Your reservation is confirmed once your deposit has been received and your booking has been accepted.
The remaining balance and its payment deadline will be communicated in your booking confirmation.
Absolutely! Although the Tanzania experience is designed as a continuation of our Rwanda workshop, you are welcome to join us independently, subject to availability.
We'll provide the necessary arrival and meeting information so you can join the group in Tanzania.
Cancellation fees and refund eligibility depend on the booking terms and the timing of your cancellation.
The applicable cancellation policy will be provided before your reservation is confirmed. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage.
Guests should arrange comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation, trip cancellation, and photographic equipment.
Please also verify whether any additional mandatory inbound travel insurance applies to your nationality or itinerary.
Ngorongoro Crater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and numerous bird species.
We may also have the opportunity to photograph the endangered black rhinoceros, one of the crater's most sought-after sightings.
All animals are wild, so sightings can never be guaranteed.
The Serengeti is one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife destinations, especially for big cats.
We'll search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, and many other species.
Every safari is different, and our photographic opportunities will depend on wildlife movements and conditions during our stay.
September can be an exciting period for the Great Migration, particularly in the northern Serengeti, where large wildebeest herds may gather near the Mara River.
However, migration movements depend on rainfall and grazing conditions. Sightings and river crossings cannot be guaranteed.
Our itinerary will focus on the best wildlife opportunities available in the areas we explore.
Not at all! Whether you're a beginner discovering wildlife photography or an experienced photographer looking to refine your skills, this workshop is designed to help you grow.
You'll receive personalized guidance adapted to your experience, with practical advice throughout our safari activities.
We recommend a DSLR or mirrorless camera with a telephoto lens. A 100–400mm or 200–600mm lens is particularly useful for wildlife photography.
A shorter lens is valuable for landscapes and environmental photographs. Remember spare batteries, memory cards, chargers, and sufficient storage for your images.
Absolutely! Photography coaching is at the heart of this experience.
We'll work together on camera settings, composition, lighting, anticipating animal behavior, and capturing compelling wildlife stories.
Between safari activities, we'll also review our photographs and explore editing techniques to help you make the most of your images.
Absolutely! Your husband, wife, or partner is more than welcome to join, even if they have no interest in photography.
They'll enjoy the same extraordinary safari experiences, beautiful landscapes, wildlife encounters, and luxurious accommodations.
Our carefully selected lodges offer wonderful facilities and beautiful surroundings, making this an unforgettable holiday even for non-photographers.
The price is the same for photographers and non-photographers, as everyone enjoys the complete safari experience.
For guests joining us from Rwanda, the connecting flight from Rwanda to Tanzania is included in the extension.
Once in Tanzania, we'll travel by private ground transportation from Arusha toward the Ngorongoro highlands, a journey of approximately 4.5 hours.
After our stay in Ngorongoro, we'll continue toward the Serengeti, enjoying the changing landscapes along the way.
On our final day, we plan to fly from a Serengeti airstrip toward Kilimanjaro International Airport.
September generally falls within Tanzania's dry season, making it an excellent period for wildlife photography.
Days in the Serengeti are often sunny and pleasantly warm, while early mornings and evenings can be cool.
The Ngorongoro highlands are considerably cooler due to their elevation, so warm clothing is especially important for early morning activities.
We recommend comfortable safari clothing in neutral colors, lightweight layers, comfortable closed shoes, a sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
Bring a warm jacket or fleece for early morning game drives and the cooler Ngorongoro highlands.
Comfort and practicality are more important than formal clothing throughout the safari.
Travelling directly from Rwanda to Tanzania does not normally require a yellow fever vaccination certificate solely because you've visited Rwanda.
However, entry requirements can depend on your complete travel history and any transit through countries classified by Tanzania as yellow fever risk areas.
For example, Uganda is on Tanzania's yellow fever risk-country list, and travellers arriving from Uganda generally need a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate.
We recommend confirming the latest requirements with Tanzanian authorities, your airline, and a travel health professional before departure.
A travel health professional may recommend routine vaccination updates and protection against illnesses such as hepatitis A and typhoid, depending on your circumstances.
Malaria occurs in parts of Tanzania, including lower-altitude safari regions. We recommend seeking personalized advice about malaria prevention and mosquito-bite precautions before travelling.
Visa requirements depend on your nationality and passport. Many international visitors can apply through Tanzania's official electronic visa system.
Personal visa fees are not included in the workshop price, and guests are responsible for obtaining the correct travel documents before departure.
On our final day, we'll take a scheduled domestic flight from the Serengeti toward Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where guests can connect with their international flights.
Most international departures are scheduled in the evening, making an evening flight a convenient option after our domestic transfer.
We recommend booking your international departure only after the domestic flight schedule has been confirmed, allowing sufficient connection time for any potential delays.
